Now, the new 2023 Sierra 2500 Heavy Duty is already available for those who need a sturdy vehicle but don’t give up on design, comfort, and technology. Learn more about it here.
Performance and Driveability
All trims have two engine options: a 6.6L gas engine and a 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8. The first option has a six-speed automatic transmission, while the second comes with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Higher trims can also add a Power Take-Off (PTO) to the Allison 10-speed transmission.
The tank has a fuel capacity of 136L, but information regarding fuel efficiency is yet to be disclosed by GMC. It’s a powerful vehicle, regardless of your choice of engine. The first 6.6L V8 puts out 401 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque capacity, while the second engine comes with 910 lb-ft of torque and 445 hp. The towing capacity ranges between 8,391kg and 14,057kg.
Interior and Exterior
All trims have the same dimensions, which means there’s plenty of interior space for all passengers. The front seats have 113.1cm of legroom, 109.3cm of headroom, and 155.4cm of hip room. The backseats offer 110.2cm of legroom, 101.9cm of headroom, and 153cm of hip room.
There are two choices of upholstery (leather and cloth) in different colours: dark walnut, slate, dark ash gray, and forge. This is a long lineup. All trims have 635.2cm of length, 207.9cm of width (without mirrors), and 205.4cm of height.
The wheel size ranges between 43.18cm and 50.8cm, all of which are made of aluminum, although with different paintings. Adjustable trailering mirrors, chrome front and rear bumpers, and LED lamps are available across all trims.
Tech and Safety
The new Sierra 2500 is surrounded by tech facilities that make every ride much more comfortable and safer. There’s a 20.32cm diagonal touchscreen display with navigation and GMC’s infotainment system available for the SLT and above. The basic trim comes with an 8.89cm diagonal driving information center. All trims have a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, and power outlets for the front and rear seats.
There are also plenty of driving assists for pretty much any situation that may arise on the road. These include parking assists, hitch guidance, blind-spot alert, lane change alert, and lane departure warning, to name a few. Plus, six airbags are available in all trims.
